The hall

The hall at dusk

Havenhold is a timber hall on a canal. We took it in February because it was cheap, on the water, and nobody else wanted a building with one working bulb in the cellar. The first week was brooms and a table carried in from someone's uncle. The world we play in started on 12 March. We have not wiped it.

From the door you get the long room, the table, and the windows. If you are new, you start at the small jetty in the grass, not at Joost's boats. The guest chest is one night. After that the chest has your name or it is not yours. The orchard is east of the path. The bridge lists to the left and still gets you across when the path is a ditch. The cellar is shared, and the key goes back on the nail.

This site is the paper and the board. The paper is for pieces long enough to read with a mug. The board is where the week actually gets argued: boats, stakes, oak, bread, whether a reset is a moral failure. It is. Marek keeps the door list. Lena keeps the count. Joost keeps the oil. Anouk keeps the bulb honest. The rest of us keep beds and, on a good Friday, our mouths shut for twenty minutes.

We are not a studio and not a shop. There is no rank. There is no address of the world on these pages. If you want a bed, register or write hall@havenhold.store. Two lines. Then wait until before Friday, which is when the mail is read.
